5 Healthy Tips To Get Through The Holidays
1) Make the choice to see the positive in every situation doing this holiday season.
2) Hydrate! Drink plenty of water before your meals.
3)If you are going out for drinks, order a glass of water or ice tea for your first round. While your friends are drinking too many cocktails , you actually saved yourself 500 to 600 calories.
4)Get active! Encourage family fun activities during this season. You can do outdoor activities such as ice-skating or walking around the neighborhood.
5)Eat your veggies. Don’t go right for the carbs!Eat your serving of vegetables first, followed by your serving of protein and save your carbohydrates for last.
10 TIPS TO STAY ON TRACK
1. Eat every 2-3 hours🕒 to keep your hunger in check and blood sugar levels stable.
2. Eat vegetables 🌽with at least 2-3 of your meals.
3. Eat fruit 🍎1 – 2 meals (in the early part of the day or at night after a workout).
4. Eat protein 🍗at least 20-25g with every meal (liquid form of protein like a shake is best after a workout).
5. Eat fats moderately 5-10g each meal throughout the day (make sure you measure them they add up fast).
6. Eat complex carbohydrates get in at least 🍞15 -25g in the early part of the day or at night after a workout.
7. Exercise daily🏄 including 30 minutes of aerobic activity.
8. Weight train 2 – 4x a week. This will allow your body to tone and sculpt while gaining strength.
9. Drink water at lease .75 x of your body weight daily.
10. Sleep at least 8 hours so your body can recover and you will have the focus to make healthy choices.
